Children who can not attend school because of lack of resources for purchasing a school uniform are the focus of this project. $12 US buys one uniform.

JOHANA
Johana is very proud to be wearing his new school uniform, as he sprints to school, 3 km away every morning. Jahana's mother Namayaiana has had many a night when sleep eluded her in the worry as to whether she could find the monies to fit her child in the mandatory uniform of the Kenyan Schools. Namayaiana first heard of our uniform project in the village market. She was misinformed when she was told that to qualify for the project her photo must be taken and sent to America. The Maasai believe that a photo taken would capture one's shadow and permanently suck one's blood from the body. Nevertheless and despite the danger, she was eager to make her son the proud owner of a uniform. When she met with our Nosim Networker, Moses, she was assured that neither her nor her son would have to have their picture taken in order to receive a uniform.
Jahana now walks to school with all the confidence of every school-going Kenya child and will, perhaps one day, make a contribution towards placing another building block in the development, not only of his native Maasai but in Kenya also.
MUNKE
Munke, is 14 years old and in class 8, in the Kenya system of education. Munke lives in an area where the prevalence of Typhoid is very high. In every single school term, he has been a victim of this dilapidating disease. Munke's parents have spent a fortune treating the family. Munke's father's herd of cattle has drastically diminished. Except for the opportunity to give Munke and his siblings an education, they would have moved long ago to a safer area, less prone with Typhoid. However, if they were to move to the safer area, Munke would have to forego his education and live as just another Maasai boy, tending cattle. Munke's parents have put their life on the line for they have vowed that, no matter what, Munke must have an education and perhaps some day be the savior of the family in the survival ware of the next generation. Nosim is proud to be a part of Munke's future success by fitting him with a school uniform.
Note From Ole
"Whenever we go out to profile the children, for the school uniform project, we are disheartened because there is not enough monies to qualify all of the children for a uniform. We often must disqualify, but we never discourage. We have a policy of leaving the family who was disqualified with the uplifting statement that whatever we cannot do, the Lord God Almighty can and will come to the rescue of the needs that mere man is often unable to provide."
Note From Nosim
"Uniforms have been provided for more than 250 children. If you would like to make a contribution to the school uniform project click here."
